Following New Testament examples, Riverside is governed by a board of elders chosen based on scriptural guidelines. The physical and financial needs of the church are handled by a board of deacons, also selected based on godly character. – 1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Timothy 3:8-13
Elders
Randy Piatt
My name is Randy Piatt and I thank God for allowing me to serve here at Riverside! John 3:16-17 reads, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him might be saved." The Christian community here at Riverside radiates the loving mercy of God!
Kevin Behrens
Kevin and Lorie have four children (two graduates and two still home-schooling). He works as a software developer, but identifies most strongly with a lifelong effort to value and trust God above all and live accordingly. In God's mercy, Kevin's restless efforts to rightly understand and apply God's Word have taken a constructive turn with Riverside. One of his greatest joys is worshiping God through music with his talented children. Ephesians 6:10-17 is a good synopsis of Kevin's outlook, which the Lord has been patient in helping him flesh out.
Deacons
Elaine Kamptner
Elaine is a widow who loves the Lord. She is retired from Ferris State University and is a full-time caretaker of her elderly mother. Her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter live in the area. One of her favorite passages of scripture is Romans 8:28-30. All glory, honor, power, and praise belong to God.
